Ha so ironical

Case 1 : Indians spend loads of money on overseas degrees... why? Because of the prestige a foreign university brings. Now if it was that good then why dont the locals study and get degrees from these universities? Why is it that most of them drop out from colleges or dont go to universities at all?

Whose stupid? Us, who spend lakhs and lakhs of rupees for studying overseas, yearning to get degrees from these 'prestigious universities' because of the credibility they have in our home countires or the people who have lived all their life here and have never considered getting 'professional degrees.'

Case 2 : If long distance relations dont really work, then why spend so much on international calls talking to parents and friends?  The bonds with friends and families grow stronger once you go away from them and the relations with your companion(supposedly to-be) grows weak...
Rather ironical comparing the importance of and the duration one is expected to stay with each of them... being with the companion the longest.!!!

Case 3 :  All the non-resident praja staying in foren land never wants to come back.
Reason no 1 : There is noone to question their accountability. They are free to wear jeans and 'tisurt', their kids speak englisss with proper american accent and when they come back to India they leave no one from knowing that they are foreign returned!
The irony comes in when these desparately seek for their own replicas in foren lands claiming that is their only way to keeping in touch with the roots.

That's a truth u have revealed and i could sense that as a regional ally.

@the above 2 comments- u cant call it 'Truth' just cos a handful of them agree with it.'truth' has to be universally acceptable right! the universe follows it or not,it sounds gud or not doesnt matter.truth is universal.....
the above culd be ur viewpoints ah!!! thts exactly wht they r so u have the choice to agree or disagree not to validate its truthfulness....

@ nidhi- unfortunately i disgree with ur views too.It maybe pretty common behaviour amongst desi people living abroad who dont want to come back, but surely not for all.

If asked some people dont want to come back cos they prefer:

To come home from office n wipe ur face in a towel n find the towel a lot cleaner than the case in india.

To step out of house n still enjoy driniking liquids cos they dont have to worry abt not being able to use dirty toilets( trust me i know exactly wht tht feels like after being hospitalised in college cos i wasnt drinking water)

To be able to afford a decent living not living on the edge of life.

To be able to retire not thinking -will my kids look after me if i dont earn up a pension for myself.

I do luv my country but dont agree with those educated professionals who talk abt patriotism n dont want to go abroad even when they get chances to instead sit in the country fighting for jobs n underutilising their talents when they culd ve earned money for our economy.

To me if im here i know i can surely contribute more to india (support charities, help people with the right guidance etc.,) which i culdnt have if I wasnt here, i wuldve probably struggled to make ends meet.

Wht I dont agree however is with people who struggle find all unethical means to come here from their countries n betray their families, people n country.
People who want to be accountable are accountable no matter where they are, here, in india or even any part of earth.
If they want to wear the dresses they want no one can stop them even in india- every place is changing!!!

everyones there where they want to be n cos u r not there it doesnt means its not a place for others...so no offense I STRONGLY DISAGREE......

@RT,
Every time you see something in your surrounding thinks about its rightfulness, then its truth. The behavior of the people you get around you and you feel right or wrong then its truth. The article you just read and write a comment on it disagreeing what she wrote is itself a truth. Whether it is agreement or disagreement, whether it’s universally accepted or not and no matter it’s not recognized by all the others the thing u think true is truth. If followed your view, then there is nothing true in this universe until and unless u see, touch and analyze it. There is something beyond that where the truth is what you feel and you don’t have to justify and conclude your result in a journal to testify that.

@Ramesh
Ur statement is not very clear but taking them at face value:
- " The behavior of the people you get around you and you feel right or wrong then its truth"
----- behaviour of ppl round u depends on the community or society round u they have different moral stances hence different beliefs and with regrds to "u feel right or wrong then its truth" the reason why i said truth is universal is cos its not judjemental- u can percieve differently but truth wont change. according to ur statement u feel right or wrong then its truth.
say for eg., a kid says her dog looks like a pony cos she luvs her dog so much, ppl round her, her family n frnds say the same cos they dont want her to be upset does it mean her dog is a pony is tht the truth? it satisfies ur conditions but not my universality condition so of course "NOT" her dog is still a dog as the universe will never accept it as a pony.

You are focussing on truth from an absolutist or dogmatic point of view and i see it on a relativist or pragmatic point of view.

We analyse factsheets based on our own cognitive moral reasoning.ur stance towards truth is different and mine is different as our views are different but then they are just views and hence i dont call that the truth.i dont call what i say is true but i call it my view.

How about the popular maxims of testing what is morally "right"
the 3maxims are:
*Consistancy
*human dignity
*universality

As of this changing world even the absolutist approach is getting broader to say there can be different views based on different socities, so what do u call ur surrounding?

Hence the stress on universality. thus u can argue about truthfulness being what is right for u and ur surrounding but ethics and cognitive moral development or the "right" thing has gone far beyond ur thoughts.

Its time for u to step up from pre- conventional CMD to second level Conventional CMD.

I would have probably agreed with ur so called "truth" about a few years ago but not in the current age or in the long run.....

strong argument though! but not strong enough:)

Cheers RT
